Sorry, a daft few questions from an over-excited PE virgin here!

1. My sister and I are making our PE debut in November. We're going to Orlando for a 2 week holiday and I was wondering if there is a dress code for PE? I don't want to turn up in sweat pants and shirt if I should have smart togs on.

2. We booked the holiday through Virgin Holidays and paid for an upgrade at the time of booking. Will this qualify me for points on my new "red" flyer card??

3. Do PE seats mean we go upstairs?

You can probably tell that I've never upgraded before. My questions sound so dorky - but I genuinely don't know.

Sis seems to think if PE isn't that busy they'll bump us up to UC. Don't think that's going to happen - but I can dream! (Incidentally, has this ever happened to twosomes? I can understand VS upgrading ONE person, but I'm a bit dubious about two. However, if it's offered I'd willingly accept!!)

Thanks for your help.

You can wear what ever you want when travelling in any class on any airline, you paid your money.

If your staff on a standby ticket then there is a dress code but this will not apply to you.

PE is upstairs on LGW flights, however sometimes ROW 11 and 12 are used if flight is full. ROw 11 and 12 are upper class seats but you get a PE service, personally although the seat is bigger you cant beat the PE service on the Upper deck.

Upgrades only happen if the flight is full for eg Y pax go to PE and and PE pax are moved to Upper class.

Flying Club gold and silver members are normally upgraded first of all!

You will NOT get upgraded if UC is empty likewise you will not get upgraded if PE is empty from a company point of view there is no need to.

Despite what people say you will not get upgraded if its your birthday, honeymoon, or first ever flight.

Hope this helps.

DOnt forget to call VS res to pre book your seats.

Hello kcameron and Welcome :)

Just to add to what Declan has already said....

You will earn full PE FC milages and tier points (that's 6504 miles and 3 tier points for each direction) - just make sure your you call VH and get them to add your FC number to the booking if not already done.

All VH bookings flying on VS earn the full FC milage. See this page for more info. As you have booked a PE seat with VH you will be on a H fare.

Enjoy.......

From my experience when you call VH to add your FC numbers to your booking, you might have to be a little bit insistent with them, as they seem reluctant to do it and ask you call VA direct, who tell you to call VH :)

Stephen, I think in those five words you have summed up the correct approach to upgrades perfectly, perhaps it could be added as a heading in the upgrade guide?

Stephen - that was classy! I only wish it had happened to my EX mother in law. Though, as she normally flies everywhere by broomstick .....

I'll hope for UC seats, wish for one and pray for them too, but if I get directed to my PE seat, given free champagne and can have a decent stretch out in my chair without dear sister moaning that she's cramped (she's 5ft 11 and says the Economy seats are just a bit too tight) I'll be the happiest bunny in Florida!

PE is in fact fab and had i never been uped to UC then i would be happy to fly PE forever. But those cunning people from virgin cunning ville knew my weakness and showed me UC:D hooked forever and need UC anonymous (maybe we should start a club)

Perhaps he's one of several species of furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict;)

Regretfully the only version I've heard is Half Man Half Biscuit's referential "Careful with that spliff Eugene, it causes condensation"... have a friend who's a big fan though :)
