Hi
Does anyone know if I can book LHR - SAN with VS, then with American West for the LAX-SAN leg?Doesn't seem to be any option to do this on the website. My other option is with UA (I hold FF with them too) but would much rather VS.
Thanks
Andy

If you call Virgin Atlantic Reservations they will be able to book the whole journey for you.

i don't think American West flies directly from LAX to SAN. We are doing this trip in a couple of weeks and booked our own flights from LAX to SAN before I realised it could be done through Virgin Reservations. As far as I could see only AA and UA do direct flights. It is however somewhat cheaper to fly American Eagle via LAS[?]!

America West do not fly from LAX to SAN direct. It is kind of like flying from Heathrow to Gatwick !!!!! American Eagle and United Express are about the only ones that do it, and they use the small prop planes (Puddle jumpers) that hold about 19 people.

You would have to exit Virgin at terminal 2 and go over to a different terminal and check in again. You may wait an hour or two for the conecting flight.

You may want to try the coach service from LAX to SAN from http://www.cloud9shuttle.com

The cloud nine "LA Porter" or "San Diego Porter" service is a big bus that goes about every hour. I think you have to call to book this as it does not show up on the website. I have done this many times and I think the fare was about $30 per person. They do limo's too, but that will cost you more.

The bus is usually faster than flying, and cloud nines has smaller vans (Mini buses) in San Diego that will take you to any hotel.

Just an idea. !!!!!!!!!
