Cancelling a reward flight

Hi all...

I have a PE reward flight booked for later this month. They released an UC seat 2 days earlier and I am thinking of cancelling my first flight to go for the better seat. How easy is it to cancel a reward flight? Should I just book the new flight online and call up the call centre to cancel the old booking?

You can simply call VS and ask them to cancel it, If you do not re book within six months (I think it is six months) you will forfeit 25% of the miles. You might want to use all of your charm and see if they will allow you to upgrade your PE ticket to UC.

Nice and simple, if the seats in UC are still there, and you have the miles required, they can take the exsisting booking, refund the miles and then complete the new booking with the additional miles. Call VS upper class and the premier services team will be able to do this. If not using miles then you can move the booking to another date based on avail, but if you cancel it you will incur a mileage penality.
