UC Sleeper suit Question

Apologies in advance if this has been dealt with before (I did look though quite a few threads before posting but could not find an exact answer).

When travelling in VS UC and donning the sleeper suit what does one do with the clothes one boarded the aircraft in? Are they stowed somewhere in the cabin or just placed in the passengers' carry on luggage? My relatives are flying UC next Spring and they will be connecting onwards on the same plane to reach their destination - do they keep their sleeper suit for the second leg of their journey?

Having never seen one of these suits, they are curious whether or not it will be deemed socially unacceptable to take along some other form of nightwear of their own choice ([:?] I hope they have added new PJs to their Christmas list)?

Normal place is in the carry on luggage, that way you can forget to change and walk off the plane with the ninja suit.

I usually just fold my clothes and put them in the overhead bin but I have had cabin crew ask me if I wanted to hang them

Hi there rock chick - as HL says there are options, particularly if you are wearing smart clothes (suit for men e.g.) then the crew will gladly put them on a hanger into the onboard wardrobe. I travel casually, and simply stow my jeans and tshirt under the ottoman.

I think it perfectly reasonable to take your own nightgear ... if modest of course [}:)] and lastly, there's no need to take them with you (although you can), your parents will get a clean pair for their return.

Thank you all for your replies. I think the question would be one of style, not modesty, were they to bring their own attire.

One more Q if I may: as they are using the CDC service, is there any need for them to use the on line check in? My aunt is worried that if they wait until they arrive at the drive thru check in they might lose their pre-booked seat choices.

I've used online checkin when on a CDC for this very purpose. I'm not sure you 'need' to do it, but was reassuring for me to get my desired seats.

It is very unlikely in UC, but still not 100% guaranteed, that your seat choices will change. A switch of aircraft type is often a reason for this. However, as mentioned, online check in is advised - this will warn you if the aircraft type is different - don't forget even then your seat choice is not absolutely guaranteed either, but I can't think of any experience of it not being met.

I'm assuming your relatives will be travelling from LHR-SYD (or the reverse)? If so, they may (should they choose to be environmenrally friendly)just use the one sleepsuit for the journey.However as has been said already a new pair will be offered on the second leg.
A word of warning. The sleepsuits are 'recycled' (if left on board) ,so may have been 'previously enjoyed' by another passenger before (allegedly) being laundered and re-used. I've never yet had a truly scabby set given to me, but there are plenty of members on here who have![:0] They're also more poly than cotton (65/35%) and can become very warm if the cabin is temperate (I know a few of us tend to wear a camisole /t-shirt underneath for when they become too warm).
If your relatives are fashionistas they may wish to take their own attire for the sleepsuits would win no prizes in a style contest(think big,black and shapeless [:D]).

I normally just fold and place in the little bin under the 'footrest'.
Any tailored clothing (suit coat/sport coat) is stowed in the closet prior to takeoff by Cabin Crew.
