Hello

I'm flying UC for the first time in December - having booked the tickets I'm now very excited.

Can someone tell me what is the socially acceptable time to arrive at the Clubhouse for a scheduled 2.30pm departure? Obviously I don't mean to get there at 8.00am but would 11.00am be too early?

Thanks

Hi,

Well im, on an 11.15am from LGW flight in march and will be getting there for 7.00am to make the absolute most of the clubhouse.

Cheers Jason

AFAIK there is no rule. 11 for 2.30 isn't taking the proverbial, certainly compared to some V-Flyers. I wonder what they do with all that time... Surely there is only so much you can eat and drink, doubly so since you have eight or more hours on the aircraft coming up.

Last time I flew VS my originating flight to LHR arrived at 9:00am to connect with a 2:00pm departure. We were in the Clubhouse from 10:00am :):D

Hi

We like to get there an efficient 3 / 3 1/2 hours before take off. It always feels like a major part of the holiday - a leisurly glass of champagne, read of the paper, some beauty treatment for the good lady, watching the world go by etc., very conducive to a great start to any holiday.

The time just flies by anyhow, so I think your suggested arrival time is just about right!

Daisy,
IMHO considering that the Clubhouse is truly one of VS's unique and enjoyable features, it is part of the overall UC experience and is, as others have said, there for the enjoyment of UC pax. So, enjoy! And don't forget to file your trip report, please.

Regards,
Chuck-

Thank you all for your advice...

Its nice to see that its still OK to be excited about travel in general and flying in particular!

To be honest I've got a bit fed up with VS of late - I normally fly PE but its just been so inconsistent so I've decided to cash in some miles for a pre-Christmas shopping trip to Boston in UC. I'm hoping the experience will encourage me to continue with VS...hence wanting to make the most of it!

thanks again [:X]
