Hi All,

I will be flying on the 2nd Jan 08 from LHR-SFO. I am on a Z fare. So i wont have the CDC. I will get a friend to drop me off. Can they drive to the CDC area and drop me off or.... I don't even know where the CDC area is :) I only know where T3 is.

Also i have a friend travelling on a Y ticket on the same flight can i have him check in with me?

Cheers,
K.

Hey Kenn,

How are you? Looking forward to NY?

In answer to you question, no you can't get your friend to take you through the CDC drive thru, you will have to go to the normal UC check in, but will be able to check your friend in who is in Y.

Make sure you do a TR.

Hi Kenn!

Like you I am on a Z fare on Jan 2 and although one of my companions is on a reward ticket we have opted not to go for the CDC for the simple reason we are coming in on a connecting flight.

Hope to see you in the Clubhouse!!

Thanks all for the answer.

So in summary if i was to go myself on a z fare i can go through CDC with a mate dropping me off?

Honeylamb, hope to see you there too! How do i identify you?:)

No, that's not what's been said. Only VS cars can use the facility, full stop.

If you have a CDC through a J/D ticket, OR as part of a reward redemption you can - otherwise, no.

Yes there is a way you can - I did in December and am doing the same in February at LGW. However, I booked a CDC (paid for by me) through Tristar and the driver phoned though my details en route and the host was waiting for us when we arrived at the drive through checkin.

HG, this is an 'unofficial' route, and not one which is officially accepted or agreed by VS. You may well find that as part of the new J facility at LHR, your 'wings get chopped' with this workaround.

While you may find it works (or has done in the past), I'd be VERY careful before recommending it as a standard practice...

Hi,

I am not recommending this route as standard practice but may be worth checking out as it has worked for me. It was recommended to me by premium team at Virgin or TRISTAR I dont remeber which so until I am told otherwise by Virgin (hopefully when the driver phones through my details ! ) I will continue with it when travelling on a discounted Z fare .....but it has to be TRISTAR undertaking the job.

Good luck
