So as soon as I sign up for V-Flyer (having read without paying for way too long) I've got a question.
Tomorrow night I'm booked with the lady wife on VS010 in Upper; got to love those special fares! First time that she's been in Upper, and this is partly to convince her that when I whine that it's really worth it for my trips back to Blighty, she'll understand why.
Booked the flights several weeks ago, carefully choosing seats next to each other at windows (10A & 11A). I've used the seat choice before and never had an issue. On 4th December in checking the reservation I noticed we've been swapped into facing seats. No issue, 10A & 11A still open; switched them back again. 4th January, guess what (by now I'm getting a facial tick even entering the Virgin web site address), moved across from each other. 10A & 11A now gone, change to 6A and 7A. Send a note off to Cutomer service. No response.
This morning before starting my daily toil check the web site. Still there! No change. Check this evening. Moved across from each other[:(].
Now can't change seats as the plan is no longer available. Call the Silver Desk (Gold in February![^]) and they can't explain what has gone on. Two window seats left but they don't think that they'll be able to make changes to the plan at this time. However the system allows them to. V. helpful, V. patient as I check on the web site to make sure the change has gone through.
I know about equipment changes, seats not being guaranteed and all of that good stuff, but any idea why so many changes. Silver desk suggested 'a gremlin' in the system.[:?]
Have a strange feeling tomorrow that me and the spouse are going to be looking across the aisle at each other!
