UC 600 seats 6 and 7 D

Ok so after several flights with the other side we decided to cash in our miles for the other halfs nans 80th. So with no chance of five upper seats on an orlando flight we started to look at other options for October. Unbelievably (and also causing a shock to the premier team) we secured 5 out to IAD and 5 on the day time EWR return. Which really doesn't bother me as I want them to get the full CH expereience and I've wanted to try the daytime return flight for years (even in my job with only a few hours sleep over night I turn into the bi##h from hell)

So on the way out we seem to be on the 300, and we've secured the B-snooze zone area so we can prob one of the first off (assuming disembark 2L) as we plan to try to make a connection in about 2.5-3 hours (anyone know if this is possible) and unfortunatley it's going to be with TED (although rumours are around that TED might be outTED for mainline again)

On the way back we looked on the seat maps here and asked for 4,5,6A and 5,6D. Now looking on the actual VS site (the blondness has kicked in) I see D starts at row 1 so the last D seat is actually 7D. I've tried to move us to 5,6,7A and 6,7D but doesn;t like it. Is 7D reserved as a bulkhead for kids etc?

Any suggestions and help would be welcome. Especially on the small upper zone for first off, then connection times. Also I'm planning travel up to EWR the night before and hoping to get the CO internation 752 and say hell to the cost and try the BF seats with AVOD on them, although Jetblue does look tempting (but no miles of TP)

Sorry for overloading all the questions but I am still in a state of shock as was premier team that we managed 5 G class on the dates we wanted.

If you have a tight connection to make, have a word with the crew when you are onboard and they should be able to assist you in getting off the aircraft first. I have found that they have always been really good with this kind of thing. (Although, I'd think that 2.5-3 hours would be ample time).

As for your seating, you might want to speak to Premier and get them to allocate the seating for you. They can also advise if all of those seats are free.

I can't see any reason for 7D being unavailable (other than its being occupied!) - the only seat they'll keep back for infants on an A346 is 8G, as it has a bassinet position next to it.

If you can get 7D, I'd recommend avoiding 7A as they're not actually opposite each other (7A faces the wardrobe). You need to remember that the seats are quite off-set, so 6A is opposite 7D, 5A is opposite 6D etc. (but try telling that to VS...)

2.5 to 3 hours is fine at IAD as long as it's not a US Holiday week, otherwise it can get tight, my last few trips have taken anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours to get through security, when you land, you need to be near the entry door to the mobile lounge, do not go to the back. This should put you to the front of the Virgin customers for the Immigration Hall.

I've often been moved to a UC seat for landing on this route to aid my escape from the plane.

Last time I went through IAD I had a connecting time of 2 hours which could have been fine but except that the flight left one hour late thanks to leaving from a remote stand. I asked for and received help through Immigration. OK we had to wait for the mobile lounge to fill up but we were whisked to the top of the Immigration queue (and if you have an 80year old nan with you perhaps requesting help would be essential) but the delay was then that the luggage took forever to come through. It didn't help that there was a whole orchestra of instruments to be offloaded first, which fortunately is the exception rather than the rule, but it was a full hour between arriving at the gate and getting to the transfer desk.

Actually IAD is not a bad airport to transit through apart from the mobile lounges from the plane to the terminal and with 2.5 - 3 hours you should be fine.
