Just wondering did anyone else recieve a Virgin Desk Calendar in the post this morning?

For those of you who didn't it is about 8x6 inches made of recycled cardboard and each month has a fold out page. Just to give you a little taste, January's is about the environment, March covers Check in, whilst July has a picture of a Monkey(representing kids on a flight!).

A paper calendar about the environment? Possibly VS could have sent out a bottle of water via private helicopter courier.

In various places on the calender, there are lots of claims about how VS is going to help the environment, and the following bits of advice (among others) are offered:
Pack less, reduce your carbon footprint.
Fairtrade coffee tastes better.
Add carbon offsetting to your duty free shopping on board.
Plant a tree.
Use energy saving light bulbs.

All good advice, but nowhere on the calender, that I can find, does it say that it is printed on recycled paper. [?][V]

Somewhat hypocritical IMHO. [n]

I got the calendar today as well. As others have said, it really is blowing the 'green credentials' trumpet for VS - yet not even a mention that it is printed on recycled paper / paper from managed forests etc.

Clearly the VS PR people are too preoccupied with that 744 that is doing the test run on biofuel shortly [:(].

No calendar here (yet)

Their FC statements do state they are printed on recycled paper from sustainable sources, although, these are being phased out completely from March and it's all going online.

I got one too and is proudly sitting on my office desk. I think is the first time I ever received anything from VS. Thought my new silver status [}:)] has something to do with it.

Which competition as there have been a few?

Also I'm guessing the calendars won't be sent to lowly reds.[:#]

There was a competition to win one of 500 calenders on the VS website a few weeks ago. I posted a link to it in the Clubhouse forum and obviously a few people took advantage. [;)][:D]

I don't suppose your Flying Club status made any difference in the competition.
