According tothis page on the VS website, you can :Spend 25,000 miles (+5.99 delivery) for a case of stunning wines worth over £100.

Why you would want to, is another question entirely. [;)][}:)]

Thanks Nick, every time I look at using the miles for flights they don`t seem to be that good an offer i.e. miles plus money has always been more expensive than BA. We have just booked with Maxjet for next June so we won`t be using them there either and I don`t want the miles to expire without using them on something.

If you just want to keep them from expiring you may be better to just buy a case of wine from virgin wines which will keep all the miles valid for another 3 years. That is if Virgin Wines ever credit you the miles...

I used to have problems with miles crediting, but have not for a long time. Only today I realised why!

I used to simply order online and receive my wine and no miles, then go through the hassle. Then sometime ago I rang Virgin Wines to ask some questions about a case and at that time cod assigned a wine advisor/account manager. Now when I login it tells me who that is and their email/tel no.

Since then whenever I place an order as usual online the order arrives and the miles shortly afterwards, however I know that when I place an order the account manager is alerted, so I wonder if they then push these through for their customers?

Just a thought, not sure if this ties up with other peoples experience?

You can earn miles by calling Virgin Wines Customer Service team on 0870 164 9593 and quoting 'ifly', or going to http://www.virginwines.com/earnmiles with your flying club number added at the time of order.

Hi all

I received an email asking me to order some wine from Virgin, which I did. Today I've received an email telling me that because I never ordered through the http://www.virginwines.com/earnmiles link I will not receive any miles!! My flying club account number was displayed on the order confirmation page at the time.

Oh well you live and learn, I'll guarantee you this, every bottle that is opened will be sent back and I'll be asking for a complete refund, because as their T&C's state......any wine which you are not satisfied with will be refunded in full.

As far as I'm concerned, they can go take a flying F*** [}:)]

Trev,

I encountered this - call them they will resolve it! I was also told this is a rule that will be changing.

They do not give you a refund as such, they credit your account with the cost of the wine you refuse, so you still have to spend the money on different wines, oh, and pay the posting cost

They are going to call me back.

I only bought it for the miles, the wine is only suitable for cooking with.

This has reminded me to ask...I participate in 'Virgin Wine Bank' - they take a chosen sum off my card each month and then they credit my account with a sum equal to my monthly payment every 3 months, so for example you end up with £80 instead of £60 if sticking £20 a month into your account.

I quite like it as essentially it builds up until whenever I want to buy some wine. They say though that this does not entitle me to FC miles? Am I being fobbed off? I kinda think not, as I'm already getting the benefit of a cash credit to my wine bank every quarter! Just thought it would be worth asking.

I'm in the same predicament as jimbob247 [:?]

Is there anyway you could give me the name of the person to contact, been trying to get these miles since the start of November last year.

To get the 3000 miles on your first order do you have to order the Flying Club Welcome Case or can it be any case?
