Given that BD are using the actual seats from their 'the Business' cabin (as these are now being replaced with lie-flat beds), I'd say comfort should beat BA/VS hands down.
In fact, the 'armchair-style' J seats that are being used in 'new PE' for bmi are pretty much the same offering that UA, AA and AC STILL offer in their full Business Class cabins. The 'I'm in first class' phone-calls by our friends across the pond when they get into Upper Class all make a lot more sense when you consider the offerings of the North American carriers on International routes.
Now doesn't that make them look a bit s**t... [:w][;)]

At my height, comfort is the most important thing when flying. Meals and drinks come second. If I can get comfort, I won`t bother paying business class prices. The BMI flight prices ( £200 each less than BA and £300 less than VS**) allowed me to upgrade my daughter and her boyfriend so we all fly together.
** Prices we got were £500 less (each) than BMI website at the time of booking. PM me if you want the website as I am not sure if we can advertise.

Very true, however I'm sure they are more than satisfied with the excellent product they have and the higher revenue the will generate due to the higher volume of seating. [:D]
