Nice, thank you for posting the pics....

Not wanting to put a damper on things though...is it me or are the US clubhouses starting to look a lot like IKEA showrooms ?

Itsy bitsy furniture ... give me a big ole club armchair anytime!

Looks nice though - can't wait to be able to have some decent grub before it disappears!

Squish

Grateful thanks for the photos[y][y]

Irrespective of size, providing BOS with a dedicated facility is a great step forward - unless of course another flight is put on the route [:w]

Thanks for the photos! One less thing for me to do when I'm there in a couple of weeks! [;)]

Looks like they've gone more for the 'help yourself' model, rather than being waited on, correct?

Still, looks like a nice job, and they seem to have been able to make it look light and airy despite the fact it's in an aviation equivalent of a dungeon down there!

Looking forward to my visit on the 9th...

Looks pretty good for where I'm sitting! Time to find an excuse to try it out now...[:D]

From a slightly cynical view, the bar doesn't look particularly well stocked...[:I][:I][ii]

oston is one of those places I swore I would never go back to, but nonetheless, thanks for the photos. Yes, maybe a little Ikeaish, but looks likle VS has done a good job down there.

Cheers! [y] for the photos..

Thanks for posting, squish. [y] [y]

As Sarah has said, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the service, food etc.

Do you know if there is free wi-fi?

I'm glad you liked the photos! Yes, there was free wi-fi. The service was excellent, indeed you can see in the second photo who will be serving you, she kindly posed for the camera. I can safely say I had my fair share of champagne :-) I didn't personally eat anything but a friend had minestrone soup and it looked excellent. There was a nice deli feel to the place with the black boards advertising fresh breads, seafood, antipasti, fresh salad etc.

I was in the BOS CH last night - it's nice, but it's not a 'mini' LHR CH.

- I didn't feel it was very spacious. It's below ground, so no windows, and open plan.. so no distinct areas (variety of different seats though). At one hour before boarding, barely a seat left in the whole lounge.
- Free wi-fi works well.. get a login and password from the front desk.
- Drinks selection is a bit poor.. wines weren't very nice, champers was okay, spirits just the usual half dozen generics.
- Food tasted good, but frustratingly it's a deli-style service, not self-service. At one point, there was a queue of seven people, waiting to get some food. The clam chouder was good.
- Staff very friendly & helpful
- Lounge very close to depature gates.. less than a minute. In fact, the departures area of Terminal E at BOS is quite small.. with no exciting shopping!

Except, perhaps, for the rather impressive iPod vending machine (no, seriously - with all iPod variants!) against the wall 50 feet or so from the VS departure gate. The machine also sells myvu (clicky) products, and (obviously) takes plastic. We need more of these things!

I was in Boston a fortnight ago, arriving in the Clubhouse before the rush, and I liked the food: the mug of prawns was good, as were the chowder and meats with salad. The only down side was a flight delay of a couple of hours, and then finding I was on VSUN with J2000 seats. But with the seat next to me empty even that was ok, and VS is giving me 10K miles to make up for the absence of UCS, so I can't complain. Boston rocks!

Best wishes

David
