ASA adjudication

Some of the complaints, especially 3, sounds awfully familiar... Disappearing crew indeed!

Oh the horror of having to share a toilet with 'economy' passengers.... [ii]

Can you imagine what would happen if Upper Class pax only had a toilet in Premium Economy?

Very interesting.

Obviously we know the products on offer, but the very nature of modern advertising is rather misleading and if you were not a regular traveller you would be forgiven for thinking that a well advertised product was available to you at any encounter with a company. VS are certainly not alone here, most airlines (as stated in the article) push heavily on new products that are not yet rolled out, and many airlnes operate older aircraft with former J/F products depending on route (e.g; Emirates).

Thanks,
Sarah

A pretty harsh assessment if you ask me, but I'm not totally surprised as I imagine that quite a few passengers particularly on the LGW fleet who have seen the leather seat in the Virgin Holidays brochure would be disappointed...

As one who deals with this sort of thing on a regular basis I would have written the footnote in a different way as it is misleading!

Certainly if had been a Radio or TV ad it wouldn't not have made it past the regulator!

So now consumers don't have to read disclaimers or terms & conditions anymore? Can of worms I think...

I totally agree. This sort of thing really annoys me, the whole world is getting stupid with rules and regulations. The amount of people who don't read things properly and then try and blame someone else for it, amazingly they manage to find time to write complaints but not to be more thorough in the first place[:(!]

Next thing you know someone'll be suing because their hot coffee was hot... Oops too late! Its just another sad indictment on society becoming more and more of a No Win, No Fee world...

This has been a hit and miss thing with VS for a while though, I remember when VH/VS had no mention of the recarro upper when the LHR fleet had the J2000 and the websites and brouchures made no mention about the difference.

In fact it was through looking into that that we came across v-flyer.

Neil, do you honestly read all the small print on everything you receive? Have you seen some examples of Ts&Cs on software, tickets etc?
The fact that information is in smaller print means the a seller does not want it to be noticed or else they would add it to their main advert. The world depends upon people not reading small print.
