Just been onto the Virgin Atlantic website and logged onto the flying club bit. Somehow I've been given gold status - havent even had a flight with them yet!

I know that my employer had a deal with them where we automatically got Silver but I wasnt aware that this had changed. Anyone else had this?

Flyerdavid,

It's likely that this is what has happened.

A colleague of mine who works at FFC contact centre mentioned a short while back that certain organisations have arrangements with Virgin as part of their corporate rate. Its possible your employer has renegotiated their deal and requested Gold FC status for all employees.

Lucky guy! My corporate rate is with American. Yup.. the one with the lounge below the CH at LHR. Nice huh... so while i know what goes on upstairs I have to consolemyself in the 'admirals' club! Its just not right.

'Console' is too true ... it's a pit in comparison, but so are AA's seats, ancient and bad tempered cabin crew, interiors held together with duck tape etc.

Boy, I think AA is so crap TA! Internal America too ...

Maybe it'll be easier for me to move jobs to your company to maintain my Gold status than it seems to be to get a grand total of 43 missed tier points added to my account.
