Hello

I have searched on this site, and am surprised to find there are no comments about the 'Top 50 Flyers' club. This is a group for the most frequent passengers.

I have collected about 75 tier points this year, so I phoned the Flying Club to ask if I have enough to renew my gold status for two years (I understand you only need 30 to renew). They said that when a new gold card is sent out to me (not until the current one expires), they will reset the tier points balance to zero, meaning I can not carry any tier points over into the next year. So I asked whether there was any incentive for me to continue collecting tier points with Virgin Atlantic, since I already have enough to renew. I asked if they have different levels of gold status, similar to the often unspoken different levels of gold card status with BA. The lady replied that there is a Top 50 Flyers club (although there is more than 50 members at present). These are the most frequent of all of Virgin's passengers. I asked what it means to be a member, and she replied that Virgin will do almost anything for you - exclusive offers, invitations to parties and premiers, no restrictions on miles redemptions, etc. I asked her how far off I am from earning this status. She could not be precise, but said I am not far. She said that the #1 customer flies to LA or NY every week in Upper Class (sometimes more than once a week).

Does anyone on this forum know anything about this club, whether it really exists, what the entry criteria is, and what the perks are?

There have been many, many threads about this 'club' over the years; though not many recently.

The bottom line is that those who are in it are well looked after, and tend not to advertise their membership - or the perks related to it. [8D]

Another programme which is unpublished.

For the purposes of bring this discussion to a close, I would suggest bearing in mind that VS offer certain benefits to certain flyers based on their own (unpublished) criteria. These criteria can change at any time, and I dare say for this reason they would rather keep it exactly that - unpublished.

So, danlyo, in answer to your specific question, you need 100 TP's.

If anyone hits 100 TP's or indeed has a UNIQ 'flag', they'll know about it. If you don't know about it, you don't have it, so don't worry about it.

As this relates specifically to Flying Club, we'll move the topic there should anyone want to speculate and conjure up any mysterious rumours about other secret clubs... [;)]

Yes, I'd rather not talk about it if you don't mind. [:w]
