Hi Gurus,

I am looking forward to my first VS UC flight on VS020 SFO-LHR on Thursday this week! V-Flyer has been a great resource for my questions, but there is one question that I haven't found the answer to yet.

I am returning the following Tuesday on VS045 LHR-JFK. (LHR Clubhouse treatment already booked! [y] ) Depending on how fast or slow immigration takes at JFK, I might have as much as 3 hours to wait at JFK before catching my DL connection back to SFO.

In this case, will I be admitted to the Clubhouse at JFK? I know I won't be able to spend much time there, but it would be great to experience the Clubhouse at JFK also.

Many thanks [:)]

You can try asking on the day, but realistically the answer is likely to be no as the lounge is for UC or Au passengers departing on VS. I believe DL are in T3 whereas VS are in T4. Is your connection on the same PNR as you may have to change terminals to check in?

Thanks,
Sarah

In my experience JFK's Clubhouse is the toughest to get into unless you're on a VS flight (ie impossible). Tried to get in there as a Gold, in first on a VX flight, in the same terminal, and on a VS UC flight a few days later. Answer was still a bit fat NO [;)]

Cheers!

You might find you'll need a good chunk of those three hours to go through Immigration and Customs as well as transferring to T2/3 for your DL flight and it would not be worth your while being in the Clubhouse even if you could get in there. Which is highly unlikely

Thanks for your quick responses! It doesn't look as if I will get to peek at the JFK Clubhouse on this trip, and (as honey lamb notes) my connection time isn't all that much after immigration, transfer, and security. I've read on V-Flyer that sometimes VS045 can hit some serious delays at immigration.

My flights are all on the same PNR. I don't know whether VS in LHR will be able to check me in for my connecting flight on DL, but I should have plenty of time for checking in with DL at JFK. I did notice that there are showers at some of the DL lounges in T2/3, so hopefully I will have time to use those.

Thanks again for your input!

They may well check you in since you are on the same PNR but the last time I had an onward flight, albeit on United, the agent wasn't able to do it. What he was able to do was check my bags all the way through. This means that you will collect them at JFK to clear cusoms and then hand them back at a transfer desk before leaving the area
