Can a companion ticket be requested after the original full priced ticket has been bought and issued. For example flying on business trip in W so the company has bought this ticket can I subsequently, when I have received my E-ticket, call FC and request a companion ticket for the same flights even though this may be some days after the original ticket has been issued?

Secondly if the above can be achieved can the fare paying ticket holder then use miles to upgrade just his ticket to UC? Im assuming the companion ticket cannot be upgraded to UC.

Regards,

GNJB.

Yes, the fare ticket can be upgraded with miles, providing there is reward availability of course, but the companion ticket cannot be.

I've been able to buy a Y ticket through our corporate travel agent (AmEx) and then call FC to get a companion ticket. Wasn't a problem at all.
