Hopefully someone here will be able to help with this one...

I hire cars pretty regularly in France wth Avis for leisure visits and the 1000 FC miles per rental have always come through fine within a week or two of me returning the car.

The miles for my last rental have not come through, so I completed the claim missing Avis miles form off the FC website. Avis have rejected the claim stating;

'Your claim has been rejected It has previously been processed by Avis and subsequently passed to your Partner for validation.'

So I guess this means the delay is at VS / FC's end. I assume I'll have to call them to try and get the miles (car was returned on 19th July). Has anyone else had this problem / did they get the miles in the end?

Thanks
James

Hi James

I had exactly this problem about 12 months ago (and at CDG too!!) The miles did arrive eventually, but if I remember correctly it took about a month!

While I'm on, do you use the Avis preferred service? How good is that 3 minute max wait before you get your keys guarantee!!

Regards

Ian

All my car rentals are at Nimes (FNI) - I specifically use Avis there as I have to fly a certain low cost airline to get there & you don't want to be at the back of the Hertz Rental queue when off a Ryanair flight.

I do use Avis Preferred service and it's great. A quick look at the driving licence to confirm who you are and you are literally on your way. Oh well, I'll wait for the miles (2500 miles per booking for the next few months, as per the August Insider email from Flying Club that arrived today).

Thanks
James

Email was probably only sent to UK Flying Club members as a guess Scrooge - as I assume VS have different benefits for FC members in different countries (much like the 2 different VS Amex cards).

And to different levels of membership too, because I haven't heard anything about 2500 mile rewards when booking with Avis. But Avis Preferred is fantastic.

As for the question, yes, it may take up to 6 weeks for the reward to show on your account. :-
