Hi all,

Having flown on LGW and LHR 747 fleets I have my Favorite seats in mind (3A for LHR and and 9A for LGW), although i'm taking my first Virgin A340 flight back from Miami in Feb and am torn when it comes to seat selection; its currently between 2/3A and 2/3K - want to be at the front of the cabin but i'm a bit worried about proximity to the toilet/what ever now replaces the IFBT station. Does anyone have any recommendations on seats - not worried about distance to the bar as i'll only visit it once before passing out for the flight...

Also, do they load A340's from the front, effectively making everyone 'turn left' and traipsing the economy guys through the UC cabin after everyone's seated??

Hi and welcome to V-flyer.

In the A346, I like seat 3K and I know it's popular with other V-flyers too. The proximity of the toilets hasn't been a problem for me. This link might help. Choose A340-600 Config 1 from the drop down menu.

If everyone turns left from the front door they'll all end up in the flight deck which might be just a tad crowded! [:w]

I can't answer for Miami, but in LHR passengers are loaded from the second door and therefore UC passengers turn left. Having said that, they are trialling using the front door for UC passengers on some flights and having economy passengers use the second door. This is already happening in many VS destinations and hopefully it will be rolled out over here.

Thanks - I've already booked 3K as it looked like the best choice..

I like the sound boarding on second door or separate doors for different cabins. I'm no snob but some of the looks you receive from economy passengers on their way through while you're sipping champagne can be a tad awkward..!! This was always a pet hate with BA Club world and one of the reasons why I love the 747 UC config.
