Yesterday that is ... storms in the area meant that VS45 diverted to SWF (Newburgh - Stewart if you didn't know), the VS9 to BOS and VS25 to BGR (Bangor). Pretty much a mess in the whole area and a bore for crew and pax.

Things seem to be catching up on the return but the VS10 is running 2 1/2 hours late today, the VS46 about 1 1/2 ...

But the winds also meant some flights from the USA were running very early this morning - like mine from Miami - only a 7hrs 23 flight and even with LHR congestion we touched down 55 mins early.

Last weekend I spent 11 hours at La Guardia because of the weather... Not something I wish to repeat: Considering the money in NY, La Guardia is something of an embarrassment. We all had a bit of a laugh when the roof started caving in because of the rain....!

If you think storms are bad try this....

We were sitting in the queue ready for take-off on Friday at JFK on th VS4, with rain, lightning etc around us, when the captain came on the PA and announced we'd be away as soon as possible to avoid the worsening weather, and that there was currently a TORNANDO watch over Manhattan [:0].
