Putting all this into perspective though, & whilst we're all agreeing that competition in any line of business has to be a good thing, let's not forget that one of the key findings of Wed's Competition Commission Report is that runway capacity is the core issue. Personally I concur with the FT's view....until the government takes a lead in sorting out runway capacity, sticking in different airport operators does little to combat the route problem.
