If our flight departs at 1305, is there any time limit on when we can check in? We'd ideally like to check in right after waking up and get breakfast in the CH (so probably between 9 and 10am).

Also, does anyone know why there is no twilight check-in at Heathrow?

Check in open at 6am and you can check in for any flight from that time.

Technically you are not supposed to be in the CH more than 3hrs before flight I believe.

I think you will find many a V-Flyer who has spent more than 3 hours in the CH[}:)]

Not as an UC passenger or Gold Member - you can be there as long as you want... (and some people, who are connecting in London, might be there most of the day)

Thanks. We'll get there as soon as we're up then. It's our first (and probably only) time flying higher than economy on an international flight, we intend to make the most of it!

Exactly - make sure you book yourselves a treatment too, better to book in advance, the details of what treatments are available and the form to fill in are here on the VS website[:)]

The 3 hour limit only applies to V-Room at Gatwick. All CH's have a stay-as-long-as-you-want policy.

ISTR that there is no twilight check-in at LHR due to space restrictions for the luggage. Who knows, this may change with T5 opening and T2 due to close...

Thanks Neil, already done! That's how I first found out the flight time might have changed - the Cowshed had received a list of changed flights, but no-one else had. Looks like they were first to know. :) I'm getting my hair cut. We're getting married the Saturday before the flight so I'm keeping my hair long for that then getting it chopped for the Caribbean honeymoon..

I would love Twilight check in, save lugging our bags to the hotel. But we'll manage without it. :)

That's what everyone says... 'just the once', 'once in a lifetime treat'... then, before you know it, you are hooked and looking for ever more creative ways to fly at the front... [}:)]

Have a great wedding and a fantastic honeymoon.[:)]

Thats the problem with 'just the once' you wont be able to sleep at night wondering how to make those miles go further[:o)]
Theres no shame in saying we get to the CH usually about 1pm even though the dubai flight doesnt board until 8.20ish pm[:D].

cheers

I thought that one of the reasons that Twilight check-in was available was that all the VS flights had left LGW by lunchtime therefore freeing up the check-in desks (and staff)and also eliminating confusion as to whether baggage is to go on today's or tomorrow's flight. If one were to try to do this at LHR where flights leave from early morning till almost the last flight out of LHR at night then the possibility, nay probability of things going wrong would be high.

Re Twilight check-in I think Easyjet, Thomson, First Choice and maybe others also offer this so there is a little competitive incentive here too.

If you are traveling in UC, and have access to the Clubhouse I would agree that you should enjoy it to the max and make the most of it. I often get there 3 to 4 hours before a flight, and have been known to get there 5 hours before a Jo'Burg flight.
It is a great place, I am sure you will both enjoy it.

Have a great time. Congratulations.

Thought I'd hop on this thread :)

I'm flying out to Sydney, with a stop over in Singapore with SIA in december. Do SIA operate anything similar to the Twilight check in service for flights departing from LHR? I don't think there is, but I'd thought I'd ask the seasoned travellers amoungst you :)

We're going to be in Y - the ticket costs enough as it is being December time, multiply it for 4 people lol - but I'd like to get us seats on the top level if possible (A380). I will of course use the OLCI if there is nothing alternative.

I'll also sign up (paid) to the site closer to the time and hopefully see if there are any V-Flyers departing around the same time :D

Shame my Ag can't get me to use the PE check-in for SIA lol. But on the flip side, the flights should get me more than enough TP's to secure AG for another year.

VS check-in at LHR opens fully about 06:15. The LHR Clubhouse doesn't open till 07:00 though so dont get there too early.

My record for spending time in the LHR Clubhouse is about 10hours I think [:w]

As others have said, there's far too many VS flights departing all though the day to allow Twilight check-in at LHR.

Regards

This is a pain because we are on the MIA next week (which departs at 9.20am) - so we wont have very long there [:#]

Although as per my question - I take it SIA do not operate such a service at LHR? I already know that VS don't do it from LHR, just LGW. [:)]

Hi, you might be better posting your question on the Singapore Airlines forum on Flyertalk: might be more people around who can answer it... [:)]
