So here's a question.... ready for it? Yes? Okay.

I want to go away in Jan or Feb for 5 days to a week, somewhere Virgin fly to, somewhere a bit warm, possibly to lie on a beach and do exciting things so I don't get bored. Any suggestions?!

Dubai?

Hotels probably top dollar at that time of year, but it will be hot. [8D]

Why don't you look at the destinations in the VS fare sale and make your decision based on those.

Dubai is good but expensive as nick said, try Orlando end of jan its under £330 of your new english and you can bake, and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper, but then you might be a millionaire 'who am i to presume'.

Curved Ball-

Shanghai - will stick out as a memorable week and have more tales for yrs to tell than a beach resort, HKG or Tokyo - Live a little ('too far for a wk...! no, shanghai & Beijing fitted in over 7 days easily for us last yr)
Good time of year for Cape town, also cheap when you're there. If J'brg could head Sun City for easy swimming, crash out/ animal viewing with minimal hassle
States an easy option, every destination has its appeal.

Remember- you only live once..

South Africa gets my vote for a long haul short trip - no jet lag.

Have to agree with Scrooge, St Lucia is great Jan Feb time, we are going to Rendezvous on 30th January for a week but just checked the price to book now with PE seats return and it has increased by over £2k for 4 people compared to what we got it for back in January!!!
