Thanks Decks, I wonder if those of us with pending flights will get a refund?

Personally, I doubt it. But if they would like to load some additional champagne / hot breakfasts then i would settle for that[:D][:D]

I doubt it to. When the surcharge was increased earlier this year it was only applied to new bookings so I assume the decrease will be the same.

So can i assume since we have not taken the flight yet, so not filled the plane full of the new price fuel. Should we not receive the proposed discount?. But as Buns says i would be up for the hot brekkie and more chammpers.

It is valid from tonight - which is a pain because I need to book today.

I can sympathise with VA though - they would be criticised if they imposed an increase on existing bookings but of course everyone wants the rebate when there is a decrease. Overall I think you pay what you pay at time - if fares or fees go down then that's just unfortunate.

One assumes however that any cancelled ticket gets the fuel surcharge repaid? If the PAX doesn't travel the ac is lighter and if the seat is resold the new PAX will pay the surcharge

VS still dont look to have applied these tax reductions to online revenue fares yet.

They have reduced the tax for reward flights though as currently if you compare a reward & revenue flight for the same destination/date/cabin etc, you pay less tax for reward flights [?]
