I ask because in Branson's new business book he says he stays in the same hotels as the filght crews to better connect with them, and learn how to improve the VX experience. Somehow I don't believe SRB is staying at the Holiday Inn...

Moved to the Virgin America forum, if this is indeed about VX crew, although I can't see Branson having that much time on his hands to follow the VX crew about. VS at a pinch.

Our SOP is that we never reveal the locations of the crew hotels, not that I actually know when it comes to VX.

A good friend flies with Qantas and although the hotels do change from time to time the accomodation is always 4* and very central. He stays with the crew but the pilots stay elsewhere. If other airlines do the same SRB would not be slumming it.

On our flight to LA last July I was talking to one of the FAs at the bar and she mentioned that the hotel they currently use was in the valley about an hours drive from LAX because VS got a better rate there.

I know location is often a bugbear for crews, and that hotels are not revealed for security reasons. In the case of LA, crews also get exclusive use of a minibus to take them wherever they want.

Hi,

I asked this question when I forgot where to meet the crew after I was invited for drinks with them. I was in Sydney and couldn't remember the name of the hotel they said to meet up at, due to being singled out for excessive champas! [;)]

So I asked the question here and after 2replies felt like a proper stalker!! [:#] The thread was locked and I had to have a shower to cleanse my soul.....

On a serious side, I can understand why we keep schtum about the hotels though.

Yep, there isa very good reason that the name and location of the crew's hotels are never given out, so lesson learnt, if they decide to invite you, write it down !

Oh and the LA hotel is not in the Valley and with LA traffic an hour is pushing it, the distance to some of the hotels is shocking, all in order to save a couple of $$ [:#]

Generally you are told NEVER to tell anyone which hotel you stay in downroute due to security & personal reasons but most of my colleagues did say to pax.(especially if they were eye candy!) ahem....

SF used to be an exception, they had a wonderful location, but hotel went into renovation and they've been moved. So FAs ask me 'what's it like down there by the new place' and I'm going on about how it's on the 'right side of the street, just about' but never any trouble. Nice hotel, area's fun if a little dodgy in places. Get home that night and someone was shot about five blocks south of there ...... but no, really, it's OK.

LA hotel was in Marina del Rey about 5 or so years ago. If I remember correctly the Captain had to sign for the barby and remain personally responsible for it as it had previously ended up in the swimming pool!!!!!

When I stayed at a hotel (which will remain anonymous) in SFO the first night I arrived there last year there was at least one VS or maybe VX (can't remember) FA staying there, who I recall was late for her flight!
