I am in the Clubhouse, and despite only checking in 10 minutes beforehand, I am now told the VS21 is over 2 hours late in the planned leaving time.

Apparently 3 flights are late coming in and are going to be delayed departing.

This means I will have a missed connection to Denver, and fortunately, I am all on one ticket, so we'll see what Virgin can do for me.

They did give me a free Exit row aisle seat at checkin which was very nice of them.

More news when I get it.

At least it's not foggy here at LHR !

Mark

P.S More time to write my TR from last week then !

During my very nice massage, I was paged to go to the Concierge desk.

It appears the only thing they can do is get me on a flight 5 hours later than I had booked.

It is not possible to re-route me via SFO or LAX, as both are oversold as it's Half term.

Apparently I will be met at the door and escorted through by a Virgin member of staff.

We'll see how that process goes, as I've not experienced that before.

Just had a thought, If I get delayed for 5 hours, i am going to ask when I get to DC if they can host me in the clubhouse for a while.

Anyone know *****'s surname ? I believe she is the Station manager.

Sorry, but I've had to redact the station manager's name as it's against forum rules but if you ask for her at the desk they will know who you mean

Don't hold your breath. It happened to me last year and although VS did their d*mnedest, they were thwarted at every hand's turn by the system. Still it was great to have someone fight your corner

Ahh I remember that day. With a 2.15 Hr delay, I really doubt I'll make the flight. As there is a VS56 today, I'll see if I can find space in the Clubhouse, although I suspect they'll say no.

Poor you - I really hope you at least get into the CH. In the meantime order another Mojito!

Thanks Richard, I stand corrected.

Well LHR Clubhouse advice given to all of us affected by the 2 hour delay was wrong.

The 2 hour delay grew to 4 hours in the end. Its now 9pm DC time, and I am waiting for my 10pm flight.

There was no one at the plane door to assist us. There was no one at the luggage belt to assist us, we were just directed out, and told if there were any problems to then head back to the Virgin desk.

I'll be giving the gift of feedback to the LHR Concierge team when I see them on the 4th Nov.

I'll write the TR tomorrow morning.

Cheers Mark

My colleague's IAD flight was delayed 5 hours due to something mechanical too...

And I thought it was only the Orlando flights that were delayed. Well you live and learn...

They did mention some mechanical issues, with the VS21 yesterday, all they told us was that they changed a front tyre.

Both Video screens were defective for the entire flight, the handset was locked, meaning no light or call button.

Seats were 50a and 50c, exit row.

Overall not a good flight, I'llpost a TR later.
