Thank you for the levity as ever, mind you, you have remarkably efficient bowels to manage this in just two hours [:0]

It shot through like a Eurostar setting a speed record.

What punishment did the 52 plus other members get?

I've been reading this with interest, and I'm sure some people will be looking at the chances of success in an unfair dismissal case, but... could the order in which people joined the facebook group have a bearing on management's reaction?

Maybe the reason not all 52 faced disciplinary action is because most joined prior to the derogatory comments being published by a few. It would be unfair to associate them for comments made after they joined, however, anyone joining afterwards should have a clue what they were getting into, even without posting. [n]

Apologies if anyone else has brought this up but there is an interesting article written by Simon Calder for the Independant, regardless of the content, one of the comments is from someone claiming to be one of the crew members mother, with the exact same post on here as MYLORD saying he is a father.

It's already been confirmed by another poster (and also my friend) that all fired DID write something, so surely MYLORD only serves to stir up trouble?

There's a lot of new members here posting on this topic - just a thought!

I have temporarily split off several posts from this thread and moved them from public view.

The reason for this is that they are about one specific individual who is involved in the facebook issue. Whilst he is not named, I certainly know who is being spoken about, and would guess that a large proportion of regular V-Flyer readers also know.

Whilst technically this person is not currently a VS employee, there is a lot of talk of appeals and possible unfair dismissal actions, so in my view the posts possibly are in breach of V-Flyer T&C which prohibit staffers being identified in posts without their specific permission.

I don't think it is fair to comment on the actions of identifiable individuals in an open forum. If people disagree with this please feel free to comment - without naming the individual(s) concerned - or hinting at their identity.

The mods will discuss the removed posts.

100 per cent agree Nick - right course of action. I'm not one generally for effectively censoring comment but in this case it's appropriate.

I 100% agree also. I instantly knew who was being discussed and it really doesn't take a genius to work it work. Whilst we all seem to agree that was was written on Facebook was wrong and that the action taken by Virgin was correct, it is not our place to comment or pass judgement on individuals.
