IFBT area is to be replaced with a changing room, which will hopefully reduce the queues for the toilets.[:)][^]
Interesting. Quite a good idea. Hopefully with a full length mirror to admire the cut of the sleepsuit.
Now that is a great idea. No more hopping around a toilet trying to change.
Thanks

This sounds like a good use of the space & will help reduce the queues for the toilets. Only thought is that if the changing room is floor to ceiling walls (which I assume it will be), it may change the feel of the A zone of the LHR 747's, particularly in the back couple of rows as you'll be looking at a full height wall (or door).
If anyone was going to mention it's use as a MHC spot, it was going to be you Dave....
or someone trying to flush using the door handle?
Thanks

Hmmm, frankly a bog would have been heaps better. VS has one of the lowest loo per pax ratios of airlines already. Besides, how many people when going to change take the opportunity to pee at the same time.
Sounds like a cheap easy fix rather than a well thought through one.
Mind you, at least for those of us who do like to pee, it'll keep the LROMs ooops sorry MHCers out of the lavatories!

There's a plane at JFK, to fly you back from far away

Hmmmm, not 100% sure about that one. Like Slinky I think most people change and use the loo at the same time, and if you are in 17/18/19K then I imagine you will get mighty fed up of doors opening/closing and people coming in and out whilst you are trying to relax/sleep etc. I do however think it might come in handy on say an East Coast flight when everyone is trying to change at the last minute before landing.
I imagine this was probably the cheapest and easiest of the options which is why VS went with it.

Seems like a sensible (and low cost!) idea, as the loos in Upper Class aren't the biggest of spaces to change ones clothes, plus by the end of the flight, god knows what you're dragging your trousers through while you're trying to put them on.
I can see the arguments against, but 'the needs of the many' in this case would seem to apply here. Personally, I think I'd be happy in the seat facing the wall (as long it wasn't facing the 'door' side), as I like the privacy of those suites on the A346 that face the back wall of the middle suites.

Good point Neil, 19K became my facourite 747 seat after the IFBT's went ... now I'll have to head for 19A - but that's on the sunny side of the plane when heading West ... hmmm

Instead of an IFBT, will there be a fez-attired shopkeeper sporting a moustache?

the changing area will only be on the A340 not the 747 !
In which case why not go the whole hog and put in a toilet
