With the economy sale fare on reward seats, i am thinking of booking a trip to Vegas using my MBNA upgrade voucher.

25,000 and ~220 in taxes for a PE reward seems to be incredibly good value to me.

I have checked for my approximnate dates and availability is wide open.

The question I have is, how flexible and what charges are there for changing the return dates on these tickets ? Of course everything will be subject to availability, but that permitting what notice and charge will be applied for changes ?

From VS T&C

4.2 Virgin Atlantic Flight Rewards

4.2.1 Once reward tickets are issued, you may amend your travel date, route or class of service prior to travel for an amendment fee of £25 for changes in the UK, US$50 for changes in the US or local currency equivalent of £25 for changes in any other region.....

Which is surprisingly generous for VS. I had thought it wouldhave been significantly more expensive to make any changes...

ISTBC, but I am sure the Amex PE upgrade voucher cannot be used with/at the discounted reward redemption levels. I was told by FC that I could but have since found out that information was wrong (something now confirmed by FC) and I would have to use the normal economy mileage levels if I wanted to use the upgrade voucher.

Thanks Neil - there is always a catch when things seem too good to be true. [:(!]

We successfully used my T-U vouchers during the Economy redemption sale, though this was last year and perhaps the rules were not clearly defined at that stage. No harm in asking FC though.

Thanks,
Sarah

I agree, it is def worth a try, first was told yes, then was told on here I couldn't, checked with FC again and this time told no I couldn't. The regular varying answers given by FC means it has to be worth a try, you might get lucky unless the system won't allow it.

I will call the flying club to check, later or tomorrow.

However if the T-U can not be used in conjunction with the reward sales, this will be further evidence of how useless the MBNA rewards are.

Why would anybody choose to pay 50,000 miles in order to utilize a voucher, when the PE sale is 37,500.

I read somewhere else on this site this morning, and I will echo it. If there was a way of earning 2 VS miles for every £ spent, I would drop the MBNA Amex in a second.
