Hi

I was on 401 on 19/12 and was surprised to see it was a 340-300, not the 600 scheduled and shown on the seat map.

On asking the crew they said the original plane had gone tech the night before and they had to fly a 300 over from Gatwick? This didn't seem to make sense as the 300 we had was installed with V-Port!

Anyone know what happened to the 600?

Cheers

The 340-300s are operating a few adhoc flights from LGW to MBJ and BGI at the moment so it may indeed have been flown over from LGW to LHR when it returned from one of these sectors.

One of the A343's (G-VSUN) does indeed have V:Port installed as this A/C was one of the ones that went to Virgin Nigeria and then came back to VS. Originally it has the Arcadia system fitted.

It was re-fitted with new seats in all cabins and V:Port a few months ago now.

It's also not unknown for a A343 to operate the DXB route when loads are low.

Yes, delighted to find VSUN on the apron for a trip earlier this year back from Chicago, particularly as I'd reconciled myself to some rubbish IFE only to discover V-PORT when we boarded. Made a BIG difference![:D]
