What a tosser. I wish he was on our flight next Friday. I would have great pleasure of introducing him to my two little darlings, especially the little one teething.

I bet he was on a sale ticket as well.

Yep, enforcing his position as a lone traveller in the 1st place no doubt. Strong right forearm [:?]
I can think of potential other uses for said 'plugs'
You can imagine the scene on arrival:
I want to see the manager, this hotel has children in it..& its expensive..how dare they...Do you know who I am..'

Ah, children on airplanes. Always an emotive subject with two very different opinions from either side. [:D]

Thanks,

Were the ear plugs for him and the alcohol for the children?

I am single and whilst I have no objection in principle to other peoples children (they will no doubt be working to pay my pension etc) I would rather they were put to use cleaning chimneys, digging for coal, acting as flight crew on certain budget airlines and other similar Dickensian occupations.

Shame on you mdvipond! I have no problems with kids on board, as long as they are quiet and well behaved. If anything, it's down to the core attitudes and principles of said childs parent(s).

For quiet, read 'gagged'. For well-behaved, read 'heavily sedated'. Ah, if only it could be so... Damn the social services. Damn them all to hell!

I haven't seen today's Telegraph yet, but I'm rather hoping there'll be some spirited replies to Mr Day's correspondence.

Earplugs and alcohol..........Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Ever considerate, when long haul flying with my little people I got some Phenergan Elixir...it is recommended as a short term sedative for children.

Although it tasted a tad odd I found that, if I had a couple of slurps after eating, it worked a treat!!! [y]

Phenergan's the doping method of choice for us as well, although Tizer's not too keen on the taste anymore. Not that I've ever tried it myself (in elixir form, anyway); I reckon it would rather taint the delicate aromatics of one's T10&T...

How do you think these little darlings pay for their seats in the 1st place..[}:)]
Surely these light activities if closely supervised are acceptable..[?]...
