Might seem like a stupid question but does VS change thier menu's in any class of service to represent Christmas? It sounds like something they might do.

To justify the 'stupidity' of this question I refer to some of the US airlines who dress up for Halloween, don Baseball caps and badges when a team is in the World Series (i.e. Boston Red Sox) etc etc...

If they don't change the meals have they ever changed any procedure for the Holidays (listen to me 'Holidays' --- I'm lapsing into becoming a local!!!).

Now that sounds very cool and i must say fun, for both crew and passengers alike.

I flew to IAD a couple of years ago on St Stephen's Day (your Boxing Day) in PE and one of the choices was a traditional Christmas dinner - turkey, ham, sprouts, carrots, roast spuds, in fact the full monty. I can't remember if there was Christmas pud as I never eat it. I think I read on the VS website around about that time that this was part of the menu for about a week over the Christmas period. I liked it. :D

Wonder if they'll offer me a Nut Roast for Christmas Dinner when I fly to New York? ;)

You'd probably have to supply your own. [}:)]

Maybe this should have been the theme for the recent promotional video - the possibilities are endless -

Would you like stuffing with that sir
Can you pull my cracker please
Here's a little stocking filler

and so on....

I'm flying on Christmas Eve, so I certainly hope the Freedom Menu will be a special Christmas one [^]:D

Oooh, Xmas dinner at the work's party, Xmas dinner at another party, maybe one in the clubhouse before the flight & one on board? Yum, I can't get enough of Christmas Dinner *droooool* :)[8D]

Cheers

Well the Clubhouse should offer something even if the freedom menu doesnt..

Does the Clubhouse get more festive?

In UC they have the normal Freedom menu but they also have a supplement Christmas menu that is handed out with the normal menu and you can choose just the Christmas menu or you can mix and match.

Not sure about the other classes....

I would imagine the American ones do, and would hope all the others did to. Particularly for those flying out on Christmas Eve.

Brilliant - thanks for that :)
Now I'm confused - I'm depressed because Christmas is so near, and excited because I'll be away on holiday! :D

Yep... a nice long weekend at the end of November is always welcome.;) Not sure how easy it is for Brit's to celebrate Thanksgiving but the days off are great.

Boston is already getting Christmas'd up! I flew day before yesterday and they've got Christmas Trees all over the car park areas... didn't see mcuh in the terminal yet but it's still only the 25th!

Good to hear that they do change the menu as I'm flying out on the 23rd this year and will make the most of the freedom menu.

Thanks

Well, it's not something we celebrate cos it's not one of our holidays ;):D That said, I joined my friends in CA for Thanksgiving last year - had a right old time (I even made the candied Yams! [^]) [8D]

Only trouble about Thanksgiving is that they start 'Christmas' TV tonight, i.e. concerts, TV show specials etc... I think it's just a bit too soon seeing as Advent Sunday isn't until this weekend.

Candied Yams eh... Never had them but they do sound nice. We're doing a traditional british roast with Parts of Turkey (i.e Breast) as a whole 15lb Turkey would last me and Em (my partner) about a month and I'm not that much into Turkey!!!

Well I'm certainly hoping for Xmas dinner as me and family are flying out to Orlando of Xmas Day...... Certainly don't want to miss the traditional Xmas Day lunch.

Although that said, I myself will be in UC whilst the rest are in EC:D.

Now, don't get me wrong, its not as if they are my direct family, just nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and in-laws. Too many kids for my liking[:0][:p][:I]

Economy and PE menu changes in December.

The afternoon tea has already changed and so has the main meal tray. The hot meals will be changing to;

Chicken Korma
Mushroom Risotto
Beef in Mustard Sauce.

Mid December the Chicken Korma will be replaced by Roast Turkey!

Some great replies on here... I'm looking forward to a roast on my flight back from BOS to LHR on the 23rd.

I'll also be trying the revivals for the first time too which will mean I'll arrive home for the first time and be able to spend time with my folks before I have to jump straight into the shower!

I haven't seen any posts on the itinerary forum but is anyone else on BOS to LHR on the 23rd?
