My copies arrived this morning too...

Sailor99 - as Decker says, its all to hand in a useful travel format, and you don't have to be online to view it.

There is some stuff in there that isn't on the site that I wrote: RTW tickets and information, and I also explained fares and basis in some more detail and some other useful stuff that Pix has authored.

Thanks,
Richard

Mine arrived this morning too and and I rushed to open it with glee! Spent an enjoyable hour reading it too! I bought it primarily to maximise my earning potential. I learnt quite a bit that I didn't know before.

Richard, on page 34, the mileage earning table seems incorrect for YBL and MQVXN fare codes, am I right? I was a bit puzzled at first then worked out that it should be the other way round. Excellent stuff though, thanks.

Thats it, you just can't get the staff. You are correct Strawberry they are the wrong way round, I thought it had been corrected by Pix as remember telling him (maybe he was feeling sleepy at the time I called to tell him).

Thanks,
Richard

Richard - are you planning to put the RTW material onto v-flyer? I'm quite happy to get another copy of the book if I have to, but if the RTW feature is appearing online then I might try just to buy a new hard copy every six months, rather than every three. ;)

Best wishes

Mine copy arrived this morning, Mrs Buns had already opened the package before I got home and i had a fight to get it off her:D

I look forward taking it on my next flight when I will have the time to read it in detail.

Sailor 99

I will echo the comments of others in that sometimes the printed word in book form carries more impact and helps you reatin all those interesting facts - i certainly would not be without one[y][y]

Hi David,

No, the RTW and Fare chapters will not be put on the site in the format they are in the book - but of course if you have any specific questions about any of them please feel free to ask them in the forums.

Unless VS and/or FC change drastically overnight there won't be another version of the book in 3 months if I have anything to do with it (need my social life back ;)) and it is the summer season of course.

Thanks,
Richard

To expand on Richard's reply, there are some things that work better in printed form, and some in interactive (web) form. As such, the development of the V-Book and V-Flyer have similar paths, which occassionally cross, but not necessarily on every subject.

Everyone in the UK is getting the V-Book before me in the states...too funny! I love USPS.

My copy arrived yesterday.

Thanks to Pix and Richard for all the hard work in compiling the book, and to Cafepress for the fast international delivery.

Just ordered copies for the 5 of us flying to SFO on the 30th April - let's see if they arrive in time [8D]

For $5 off an order over $20 just use the following coupon code: GARDENOXCART Once you've selected your items, you'll be prompted for the code within our checkout process. Your "friendly" discount lasts until midnight on Apr 25, 2005.

Ever considered doing a "one off" book of trip reports,
i love reading them and being in one would be fab too.

Can we change the cost to $20.00 again as many discount codes only work above this amount?

Changed to $20 as requested.

There's also a $19.99 version in there - but DON'T order that, as it's a broken version that I'm (currently) unable to delete from the store.

Oh ***** - which one will I have? I followed the home page link...

If you followed the links from V-Flyer, it should be fine. If you do any digging about the CafePress store and see 2 books, the one with the lower SKU (begining 15...) is the broken one.

Just ordered mine...

Pix - out of interest, is there nowhere in the UK that can offer a similar service? (I'm guessing it would be more expensive, having said that...)

I did look into it, but apart from costing a little more per book, they also wanted £350 up front. Needless to say I didn't read much further than that!

If the volume goes up though, I might bulk order a bunch myself (which would save on the shipping costs), and put them in the 'normal' V-Flyer store section.

It seems that the V-Book is the tenth most popular book across all titles on CafePress. Not bad considering they have 4,095 books in their line up. [y]

Don't hold back on getting a copy so we might move up the list a little. Richard's ego is a fragile thing... ;)[B)]

*ahem* Well, let's put it this way. You don't have to flog many to get on the CafePress bestseller list... ;)

Hmm... Not sure if it's technically feasible (with the two different cart providers), but what about offering a discount/bundle price for a membership kit + V-Book?

(My thinking being that it might drive membership at the same time as further increasing sales in the V-Book?) Not sure the margin on the two products could sustain it, but it may be a good incentive to get more enrolled "full" members?

The audacity! I think you should see a few more orders coming in as a number of people have been looking at the copy that is on display on my desk, must buy a new gold pen for the autographing ;)

Thanks,
Richard
