How exciting, a stalker sending you post cards.

Members doing RTW at the mo? Only one I can think of is that young chap who has a username that reminds me of the North East (that might just be me btw) and I am pretty certain he isn't called Bill and probably wouldn't Mr V's addy etc.

Mark, have you met some random on a holiday/trip, and in a drunken state given them your address to 'keep in touch'? This could be one of those, a nice old-ish couple (names are my basis for old-ish) who you happened to mention you like flying UC too?

Pls do keep us updated on your search through your memory to remember who they are.

Reading through some TRs recently there was an episode of to much Scotch on a flight from SYD to HKG ... could that have been the place where details slipped, together with memory plus ability to walk straight in HKG airport (IIRC?) [:I].

Neil. Slinky. You're both as bad as the wife. Why, when something odd, untoward or mysterious happens in my life, does it all have to come down to me being the worse for alcohol?!?

And anyway, smashed or otherwise, I never give our address to people on holiday or whilst travelling, not after two of them showed up on my doorstep a number of years ago. They only stopped calling when I moved!

The reference to 'Mrs V and daughter' seems to suggest it's web-related (either from on here or my blog), but other than that, we're drawing a complete blank.

As for my SYD-LHR episode, Slink, we were drinking wine - not Scotch - and my drinking partner's name was Graig - based on the fact that I thought he was called Greg and Mrs mdvipond thought he was Craig. He certainly wasn't called Bill or Fran, anyway. Curiouser and curiouser...

Well the fact that I have gone through all your TR's and blog posting and find no mention of your home address means it is someone you know, friends of your parents maybe ? Bill and Fran are (forgive me Mrs D) older names..some what (I know I am going to pay for that one)..check with the parents, see if they have friends traveling.

Remember, it only take one friendly lunch for the women folk to exchange addresses for Christmas cards etc

Joined up hand writing? That must mean old people. I am with Scrooge now, if it wasn't due to one of your drunken ramblings then it has to be either old neighbours? or friends of your parents?

So Neil, young people don't use joined up handwriting? Is that because you are still on Crayola?

Are you sure ... do you remember everything, did you have a witness?

Perhaps it's your very own Stewie Griffin, young Tizer, messing with your mind?

A witness? Does Mrs mdvipond glowering at me menacingly from her suite whilst Graig and I cracked open another bottle of Chardonnay count?

Not friends of the Senior Ponds. They're as stumped as we are. We do not have a Bill, Fran and Tim (did I mention Tim?) in our lives. Well, up until now we didn't.

I'm curious about the immediate reference to 'VA Upperclass'; then to go on about economy to Oz? All very airline related. No talk of the weather or 'wish you were here'...

Darren - what the deuce are you talking about? You'll rue the day you crossed me. Go on! Start rueing!

Are you sure it wasn't some new VS marketing thing? I've seen these kind of thigs before where it's made to look all personal and hand delivered.

It would be a relief if it was. But a Malibu postcard, with Fiji postage stamps and a 'NADI AIRPORT POST OFFICE' postmark? Seems like an awful lot of effort for a marketing gimmick.

Another suggestion, albeit a longshot. Is it possible that someone has culled the information from your blog and/or V-Flyer, determined where you live (after all not many places have maypoles on the go during the last weekend in May as opposed to the first one) and got your address from the electoral register. I mean, let's face it - your surname is hardly as common as Smith or Jones.
