VS07 29th Aug - Will M+M fares be released later?

Hi,

Does anyone know if the above flight will release any M+M fares or are they all sold out?

I have 20,000 airmiles but there are no reward seats to upgrade.

I would like to return on 14th Sept but its working out just over 1100 for a PE return ticket. I've seen sale fares for around 750 its a gamble, as I don't know how full PE is.

Any guidance guys? Do we think a PE sale will be coming soon?

So do you want to buy a PE M+M ticket, or do you want to upgrade a Y fare to PE? If there is nothing currently showing then I imagine the initial batch of rewards have been sold. Of course, new ones could be released, but it might not happen until the week before the flight or even at all.

As for sale fares? That is the million $ question, there have been sale fares around for most of the year but there are currently no PE ones to the US, so there could be something due.

Well really I would like to book asap and go for the cheapest fare. Whether thats a reward upgrade or M+M i'm not really fussed. I guess if a good US sales comes up that would be the best bet and I could save my miles.

I think my best plan would be to keep checking and see what comes available and hope that PE doesn't sell out!

I've just done that I noted down the fare codes for PE from V-flyer site. Only one code which was 'S' showed up having availability which was just 7 seats. Is that really all thats left? Or perhaps i've read it wrong!

Keep your eyes out on here (and the VS site) for the Virgin 25th Birthday Sale deals as they appear - some very good PE deals to be had to the USA over the last few weeks and I would expect some more in the next few.

The expert flyer codes for PE are W,S&K. K are the cheapest, S the middle and W the fully flexible. The 7, means that there are a minimum of 7 PE seats that they are willing to sell at the S fare, if there are no K's left, it would indicate that PE is pretty full.

The anniversary fares are very good, but never seem to go beyond June and the OP wants to travel in August.

I have heard a little whisper that there will be another US sale within the next few days, but I have no idea of dates or destinations. The recent MO of VS seems to be to discount trips in the next couple of months.

Having said that, this strange lone economy sale fare to LAX, which has appeared today, runs right through to January 2010. [?]
