So I've checked in for my first Virgin flight in a zillion years. VS45 to JFK tomorrow. I am excited - made more so by seeing the a340-600 map replaced by the 747-400. Got some nifty seats too and it appears more room at the bar on the 744.

Does metal often change so last minute? Is it due to load factors? Have they sold more UC seats? Does the 744 have more Y/W seats?

That's the old config on the LHR 744.

The new LHR 744 config is 54J 62W 228Y
