Hi all,

Wondered if anyone had any experience of this. Been looking at holidays and wanted to upgrade flights from Econ to PE or UC.

These options disappeared for the dates I was looking at on the VH website and I know that a) VS still have availability and b) that VH only get a certain allocation, which I assume has been used up.

Does anyone know if they get get more allocation or once its gone its gone?

They can request more but it falls to Revenue Management to decide if they will receive them. If it's an ex-LGW flight, they may not be able to have more due to there being only 14. If LHR, then the odds are better but no guarantees.

OK thats helpful, so would you suggest I get the dates and give VH a call and see what price they come up with?

expertflyer shows lots of availability

It can't harm. VH might just say that they have sold their allocation and cannot do anything, depending on which call centre you get. If they do this I would just politely ask them to request some additional allocation from VS, it is really then up to VS to decide if they would rather sell the seats themselves or release some more to VH. If the flight is a long time away or fairly close then I would think your chances might be quiet good.

Neil,

Thanks I'll give VH a call in a bit. The flight is in 3 weeks and there are 9 UC still showing on expertflyer, so fingers crossed!

As the flight is only 3 weeks away, it's unlikely VS will release any more Z fares as these come with a 42 day advance purchase rule. You might get a higher fare but it will cost you (J, D or I think R fares are the only fares available to you now). I think D fares have a 21 day purchase rule so they won't be around for much longer either.
