I am about to have my AU card renewed, currently I have 34 points in the bank. The renew date is 31 May (I presume this is the same for all).

I just spoke to someone at the flying club call centre and was told that the 4 points I have over will carry on to next years allowance. Is this right, previously my extra points were wiped when my card was renewed. Has this changed? I hope so.

Any thoughts?

I had 5 TP's wiped when my AG card was renewed last December... don't know if this was right, but ISTR that after a delve into the FC T&C's, it is ambigious for AG's renewals, but 100% clear for AU.

Section 2.14 of the FC T&C's relating to AG membership makes no reference to the TP's being zeroed on renewal.

Section 2.15 of the FC T&C's makes it clear that TP's are zeroed on AU renewal.

Certainly my Ag TPs remained after renewal. Can't advise on Ag however whenever I've discussed TPs with FC over the phone it seems like a bit of a black art - often I seem to understand it better than them!

Nope, the points get reset back to zero and you start again when it comes to Au renewal.

If you are a gold card holder, and you do earn say 20 TPs in a year, and not the required 30 to remain gold, when you go down to silver, do you start again with zero TPs, or do you carry over the 20 from the previous year?

In that instance, they would then have their normal validity period of up to 13 calendar months; so if you earned 10 TP in March, and your Gold year ended in June that year, those 10 would still be valid until the end of the following March (unless you hit the required 40TP to requal again before that time, and they are then zeroed down).
