If I want to upgrade at the airport...

Hello all,

I'm off to LA on the afternoon flight on friday. Flying economy out and managed to finally use my miles for a Upper Class upgrade home..Cannot wait!

I'm on a sale fare out to LA which is non-flexible. My question is the flight currently looks wide open, might there be any deals (i.e. the 199 one I've heard about on here before) for an upgrade to PE? And if so should I not check in online in the hope I can get this deal or can they 'reverse' this process if necessary?

There may be 'deals' (but IMHO as all the cabins are looking wide open) they may not be that cheap. I'd still check in online regardless.

Doing OLCI will not affect your ability to upgrade on the day using a 'deal' if there is one offered.

Just thought I'd add what happened in the end so if anybody else wants to do the same...

I checked in online this afternoon for my flight tomorrow - once checked in I got the 'ad' for stretching out in PE and a number to call. Phoned the number and was offered a PE upgrade for 199. I think this is pretty good...so am even more excited about tomorrow now

Well done you - so enjoy. You know it may be your only PE flight - once you have tried that forbidden fruit which is Upper Class on your return flight, you may well find that it becomes THE only way for you to travel ! I belive it has happened to many a V-Flyer . . . .
