Seats 1A booked on both the BA1443 1145 EDI - LHR and the BA293 LHR - IAD tomorrow, Sat 9th May. Online checkin complete with no other takers for seats in F as yet. Then home again on Monday 11th on UA395 1440 IAD - ORD and LX9 1915 ORD - ZRH both in 1K (hence the POSH!). Finally back to EDI via FRA on LH but by that point I probably won't care where I'm sitting!

I intend to produce a rolling TR as I go so stick with me [:D]!

Until tomorrow,

John

(0825)

All packed and ready to go. Attempted carry on only but the fear of it not fitting someones guage and ending up with no camera/laptop etc during the flights was just too great so the clobber is in one bag for the hold and the important bits will be with me in the cabin.

My inspiration for this trip featuring the F classes of British Airways, United Airlines and Swiss International Airlines falls squarely at the feet of two well known V-Flyers namely Messrs Jaguarpig and Long. Now, my knowledge of fine wines and the likes are nowhere near as encyclopedic as said gentlemen but I can confirm that my intake capacity is on a par [;)] so I will try and remember as best I can what I consume. Please forgive me in advance if my spelling/grammar/ability to type get noticebaly worse during certain parts of these TR's as I am bound to be overcome by 'fatigue' at some points.

What are your plans for DC?

Staying in Herndon tonight then drive in tomorrow morning. Plan to do Air & Space and some sightseeing then whatever else time permits. Then do the Udvar-Hazy centre on Monday moring before heading back to the airport for the 1440 flight.

Oh I agree [y] But I have yet to take a flight that DIDNT have limes and I flew over 24 times in UC in the last 12 months.

I would much prefer they got rid of that Chavy Tanq 10 and had a decent Gin - like Hendricks, or regular Tanq instead. MMMM - now that would be a real Upper CLass drink (with lime ofcourse [:w]) Now I have really gone way OT - sorry op [:I]

BA 1443 EDI - LHR 9th May 2009.

Got to EDI nice and early at 1015 and sped through bag drop and security. Had no issues with the 'lounge dragon' and parked myself in Terraces by about half past with a glass of Highland Spring (do not adjust your sets viewers - I WAS actually drinking water!).

Called to board a bit early and I sat down in 1A with a spare seat next to me until this t*at recognised the girl in 1C and decided he wanted to sit next to her. By the time I got to LHR I had had the 3rd party version of his life story at full volume 'the bank blah blah blah, Tokyo blah blah blah, Cambridge blah blah blah, Quentin and I were absolutely sh1t faced at the club blah blah blah'. Needless to say I was glad to see the back of him but did have a little giggle when we were all on the bus to T5 when he realised he'd left his phone on the plane [}:)]!

Arrived in T5a via said bus then up in the lift to flight connections. My EDI printed bp worked OK so I was off on the steeplechase to the Concorde Room and WHAT a place it is. . .

I'll continue once photoshop has downloaded onto this laptop as a TR is not a TR without pics!!

Good start to your trek apart from Mr T**t but at leaat it was only for a ahort time otherwise I could see there might have been fisticuffs or stong words at least.

And good he got his just deserts re his phone - there is someone watching over you after all !

Ok this 'rolling TR' thing didn't really work so I'll start a new thread with each flight instead.
