Had just under 74,000 miles last Thursday morning, and the tier points page (which I'm sure used to give actual numbers and a statement!) was showing that I'd gone Silver and was waiting for it to be activated.
Flew from LHR to HKG on Thursday evening, paid for a PE ticket, upgraded at the totally chaotic ticket desk to UC.
As of now, I have about 34,000 miles, because the 20,000 for the upgrade was taken off twice. The miles for the flight haven't shown up - fair enough, it was an upgrade, may have to be manually added. And apparently I now need 2 more points this month to make Silver.
I sent a slightly comprehensible mail off to customer relations through the website yesterday, explaining the situation, and got an automated reply... we'll see how long it takes to fix it, and how well it gets fixed :)

Apaprently when you pay and then upgrade the system cannot handle it and you have to ask them to manually apply the miles and tier points you should have earnt for the PE flight.

As said, upgraded flights need to be manually added. Also being the end of the month they will have to manually move you to Silver as the automated system will not recognise it due to the points being added after the 31st July. I just had the same thing going to Gold after my flight to IAD on the 31st was not credited until 1st. I just sent a mail direct to CS (didn't use the website, I contacted direct) and my account was updated overnight.

This is still ongoing, at least the tier points part of it.

I just sent a detailed explaination of my situation to Customer Services and I'm waiting for a response.

In the past 13 months or so I have been on the following flights:
LHR-LAX 28/07/2004 economy 2 points
SFO-LHR 06/08/2004 economy 2 points
LHR-BOS 13/02/2005 economy 2 points
BOS-LHR 17/02/2005 premium economy 3 points
LHR-HKG 05/05/2005 premium economy 3 points
HKG-LHR 11/07/2005 premium economy 3 points
LHR-HKG 28/07/2005 premium economy 3 points

By my reckoning, I made Ag on or about 12/07 - and at that point the website agreed with me - and I now therefore have 3 points in the bag towards retaining my tier. The FC site, however, now thinks I made Ag on or about 04/08 and therefore need 10 points to retain.

This matters because while it's quite likely I'll make 7 points in the next year, it's a little less likely that I'll make another 10 - this has been an abnormally good year for me in terms of Virgin flights :-)
