I guess that the staff brief that VS has sent out to crew is wrong then. Thats where I got my info from.

VS customer service are also under the impression the A343's have V:port too as I received an email from them yesterday telling me this.

IFE aside I actually prefer the older PE seating!

[:(] I couldn't agree more! So inconsistent. I've had great flights in UC on A346 and B742 and in PE on B744 and even B742 and cr@p flights in PE on A343s. OK the B742s were a few years ago, but were much better than the A343s of more recent times. SOOO inconsistent.
PE was a great product 10 years ago (on B747s) but has been allowed to wither and die. How can VS refurbish the A343 and forget about the notorious PE cabin and seats on that plane? Apparently they had numerous complaints about them. One flight i was on, almost everybody called the CSM and complained.

Also interesting comments about VS to IAD. I've flown that route about twice a year for past ten years. 5 years or so ago it used to be a FULL B742 or B744, what happened?

I've just flown on the 1st A343 with UCS (G-VELD).

The new Upper Class Cabin looks great. The 2nd part of the cabin with 9 suites is very cosy and ideal for Snooze Zone flights. For those who like to be close to the bar, choose either 9A or 9K.

As Declan has said, the IFE is still Odyssey and the Premium Economy seats are the same as before.

I agree that PE is very disappointing, and so not worth the supplement. PE needs improving, the seats need to be similar to the 'classic' Upper Class seats from years gone by - those big, comfy business-class type seats, and a re-branding.

Saying that, anything with "Economy" in the class title will always be just that - economy, to some extent. The "premium" part is clearly just a glass of champagne before takeoff, 1/2 inch extra seat pitch and a 10 minute less queue at check-in.
