I am confused. I am thinking of changing my JFK-LHR to SFO-LHR. I am in PE on a A346 and like the seat.

In whick part on the 747 are the new PE seats?

I know the power port does not work but that is cool.

Thanks

You do realise there are nearly 3000 miles between these start points?:)

Sorry i was thinking of the LGW config...I haven't been on an UCS LHR config but I think the PE section behind UC have the new seats, not sure about upstairs.

LHR 400's that have V:Port have the new premium seats fitted throughout the PE cabin. These aircraft are FAB, HOT, BIG, WOW and ROC - XLG is the only one with the old seating.

The LGW aircraft are the only ones that have two types of seating.

p17blo: Yes - I live in the USA, near Washington Dulles and work for Independence Air part time so getting to SFo or JFK is no problem. Out of Dulles VS operates a 343 norally or rarely a 346. I hate the 343. I am using money for a ticket (normal ticket not an employee ticket on VS) and want an enjoyable trip. The 343 does not offer that in E or PE in my opinion. Also I want to fly on a b747 again.

Thanks for your concern,

Benjamin

Surely though it would be better to get on one of the 744 from either JFK or EWR rather than fly 3000 miles in the wrong direction??

p17blo: I do agree. My hope is that they will open seats in G class (UCS) and pop I upgrade. Also seeing the SFO Clubhouse would be cool. I was in the JFK one in May. See this trip celebrates many things;

-Losing 50 plus pounds (213 to 157 lbs., pretty fat for a 21 yearold)
-Earning a full Commercial Pilot Certificate
-Getting the Independence Air internship (starts Sept 06, 2005)
-Get on the Dean's list (3.25GPA on a 4.0GPA scale) at university with fourth year status.

Also I may just leave tomorrow night 10AUG and spend time in San Fran then go to London, etc. Now this may not be a great idea as I just learned that it will be job transfer from my ramp agent job to the internship. So I would have my three months with them, so I could get an employee ticket on VS and go to SYD from LHR and change my LHR-IAD return date. Heck, I could even get a pass on QF and go SYD-SIN-SYD and try out the SQ SIN-KUL-SIN F service. Loads look light for the last part of August on ExpertFlyer. We will see. Me and my crazy ideas.

Congrats on all that Benjamin, just out of interest, where did you train for your certificate?

I'm glad someone has some sense - why would they only fit new seats up stairs and not down or visa versa?? That'd be a bit half arsed
