I'd stick a few quid on Don't Push It ridden by Tony McCoy. He's got to win it soon surely?! As an outsider I think I'm going for Joe Lively, currently at 50/1, should be a good each way bet.

If these choices do come in, you are welcome! If they are useless, I never claimed to know what I was talking about!

You sound like you know what you're talking about Aaron, as opposed to DA - three-legged horse indeed; everyone knows that's a pub.

£5 e/w on Joe Lively is currently worth £422.50 with William Hill (66/1) - so worth a quick flutter, methinks.

Of course, if that nag falls at the first, I'm coming after you ;)

So if it falls after the first and I'm ok?!

Last year the winner was Mon Mome who won at 100-1 (lucky lucky people :(! ), this year he's at 12-1 so maybe worth a few quid to win aswell.

I don't bet on the Grand National, but a friend who works part time at a bookies is recommending Black Apalachi or Dont Push It.

I never bet any money on anything but after looking through the list of horses, I'm picking (no money down) Snowy Morning as my choice in honour of the rubbish winter we've just had.

Must be my lucky day. Decided to blow 'loose change' (about £2.44) in my William Hill account rather than withdraw an odd number. One spin of War Of The Worlds later, another £115 on my winnings.

Now all withdrawn - I ain't pushing my luck anymore ;-)

Terribly well done Pete. Wish I'd had the good sense to follow the advice proffered from my own bloody thread! Ah, the regret of the gambler...

On a happier note, apparently we're serving barbecued horse steaks in the B&ES tonight, so do feel free to pop down for a sampling of seared Snowy Morning.

You're welcome! And you got the odds of 20-1 as well by the looks of things rather than the 10-1 he started at.

We got a 4th and 5th. Paddy power payout for a 5th spot so 73 GBP returned for the 40 GBP we placed. E/W is a must in the national. A plus is a plus
