Hiya,

Not posted for a while, but had a blast reading HighFlyer's RTW TRs!

I've currently got 29 tps and need to get 1 more by 30 November to renew Au - I can't imagine how I managed to get a weird number like 29 (bad planning I guess!). My holiday is likely to be end Nov/early Dec so the next VS-earning opportunity will be after my renewal date.

Can anyone think of a way to get 1 or 2 tps by then, I'm thinking a Biz return with BMI from MAN to EDI or something similar. The sale fares from VS for NYC are too pricey for the purpose and would need me to book a day's holiday so not an option.

Any thoughts?

I would say that BD are your best option, especially as a lot of the VS sale fares don't earm FC points or tier points.

I assume BD still offer VS tier points after their FF programme was cut back so severely.

Good point, I'll call VS tomorrow and check the BD situation.

Thanks.

This might be difficult - BMI have scapped business class on all shorthaul routes, except Heathrow to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast City, Dublin and Brussels.

Just tried MAN-EDI Biz on their website and it is allowed, not cheap mind......

The BD booking classes blurb mentions Biz being available on the routes you listed plus "regional services".

Will check with VS to make sure anyway.

Cheers.

Sarah,

I've sat in the pointy bit and now have to sit on top - I think that'll be Raffles Class SIN-HKG then....:)

Cheers,

A flight on SAS will also earn you Flying Club miles and TPs. How about MAN-CPH?

Cheers!

1TP is hard/expensive to get especially now BD has dropped most of its C service..

What about a weekend in NY?

I know its a few hunded but you'll get extra miles and if you time it right your return leg would qualify for TPS for the next year..

Thanks for that - I might do the NY thing, just need to make the outbound before 30/11 and the return afterwards.

Fsiling that, I'll do MAN-EDI or CPH.

Cheers,

Sahajesh.
