What do you always buy when in the US?

Interestingly I've not seen anyone else mention hardware stores...... am I the only one

When across the pond I'll always try to seek out a Lowes, Sears, or Harbour Freight & sometimes Home Depot ( although they're pretty much B&Q) to browse the tools section. Usually do come home with some gadget from one of those stores.

Renu contact lens solution in small bottles, great to carry round but you can't seem to get it here.

If you mean the flight packs you can get these in Boots.

I've never even heard of henna and placenta conditioner.

Yes, you can get them quite cheap over here also, but the range is tiny compared to the Yankee Candle shops in the Malls, which is why we buy them when in the US.

I used to stock up on hair products, moisturisers etc which was worth doing when the $ price was the same as the £ price - i.e. $17.99 in the US, £17.99 over here. I know there was that great spell when there was almost $2 to the £, but even on the longer term $1.50 average it was still good value.

Now I'm finding that those $17.99 items are now $25, whilst the UK price is still £17.99. so I understand what Nick meant in his earlier post. Maybe the higher end toiletries and cosmetics are still worth buying, but I'm not a high maintenance girl

Oh yes. Dremel accessories. About half the price of here.

As for Home Depot/B & Q. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. Even down to the shade of orange and typeface used.

We usually bring back Hersey Kisses and yankee candles too.

The only thing that surprises me that crops up on many peoples list is Hersheys chocolate.

LOL - and they will also give you NOT ONE BUT TWO! But I'm right up there with your hubby Cat! The fantastic, and now deceased, Billy Mays could have sold me anything I think. I always wanted an "awesome auger", and I'm now in proud possession of a Chamwow.

I did draw the line at "drier balls", although me and the daught left the South Street Seaport branch of "I Want one of those" having corpsed, much to the bemusement of the native population.
