Our beloved government, while screwing us royally by increasing taxes and cutting pensions offered a teeny, tiny crumb of comfort by reducing the travel tax from €10 to €3 in Tuesday's budget effective from March 1st 2011

I have a flight booked on Aer Lingus on March 21st and I've just been informed by them that they will automatically refund the €7 to my credit card. Well that takes care of an onboard G&T ):

The one good piece of travel related news! I think you should then buy a scratchcard with your mighty Euro and play it while sitting on board so you can pretend you are on a Ryanair flight!
