I was thinking that as well, or are they are grey plastic?

great and the food looks fantastic, the load factors were too low (correct me if i'm wrong) to carry on operating the a330 so they opted for a b757 however this route will be ending in october i think! shame as the service looks great!

Mm, that chicken on the way out looked tasty. And on the way back, i would ahve opted for again the chicken, or the steak. Never flown UCS, but that food on BMI looks much better. How hard can it be to produce food like that? Other airlines can...

Makes me feel hungry looking at it!

"a personal introduction from the purser and the in-flight chef"

Good lord.

As I live in Yorkshire, I used BMI from MAN to LAS and paid for the upgrade to "The Business" on the way out!

I have to agree! The inflight service was second to none!

When the in flight chef introduced himself, I questioned how much was actually cooked on board, or just re-heated!

He asked me to come visit the kitchen area during the meal prep... I almost expected to see a microwave and thats about it...

Well, its was not a full kitchen, but it sure was better than I have ever seen on a flight!

The food was GREAT! presentation, quality, taste and service! The whole experience was the BEST on an aircraft I have ever had!

As it was a day flight, and I did not sleep! I think it was better, much better than VS upper!

However, I have to say, I did lay the seat down for a snooze, but it was not flat!

I am on UCS for the first time to MCO in Oct, and I am looking forward to the UCS for the bed, but not sure about it as a seat!

Food and service on VS on routes from LHR to India has now got to benchmark the gourmet experiences even in Economy by Jet Airways and increasingly Air India too. They try, and cabin crew service on the India routes by VS is great too.

However, if you want THE surliest experience and lousiest food, try VS on the USA routes, where they benchmark a variety of American airlines I guess. And wait for the moderators to disagree and then lock this topic too as they run about trying to justify their POVs.

Malikifix,
Have you actually looked at any postings on this site about complaints with regards to the VA food before making such snidy comments about the mods on this site?
Many people have complained.
You are sounding more and more like a petulant schoolboy who did not get their way so is whining and moaning in the corner.
get on with your life and get over yourself!

This is absolute and complete nonsense. However, I suspect you are merely a wind-up merchant; if you cannot make sensible and reasoned comments, please do not post here.

The OP put up an interesting thread about the quality of food on BMI flights. You took it on yourself to hijack db1's thread to present your own ill informed and poorly argued tirade against VS.

Furthermore you have used your post to make a rather pathetic swipe at the mods; Your previous thread was locked down for good reason, which you know. Get over it. No one is the slightest bit interested

In the meantime, for the sake of all of us, please stop trolling and confine your posts to relevant points.

I was thinking about trying BMI to LAS in 2007 and using my VA points
towards the upgrade, if the food is really good and the attention to pax more personal then I might give it a whirl, after all didn't VA get their reputation from being just the same when they first started.

As far as USA destinations I must say that the food on my last flight in upper was not anywhere near as good as my previous flights just 12 and 24 months before. It was nice...but just nice not special.

WHEN WILL THEY BRING BACK MY LAMB!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: WHERE HAS MY COUNTDOWN GONE?

Being Leeds based (1.5hrs to MAN) and looking towards planning a mileage funded US trip next autumn, this is looking sorely tempting. How easy is it to use FF miles with BMI? I assume availability is pretty tight?
