I have been sent a link for a 2 for 1 offer on VS flights. http://www.travelplanners.co.uk/2for1
It is based on the price for a full unrestricted fare but I do not know if that means I can upgrade the flights or not using miles. Does anyone know what class of tickets they would book into?

Also is this generally a good deal or can better be found elsewhere? Was thinking of flying HKG-PVG-NRT next Easter - can this itinerary be done with these 2 for 1s or are they strict about routes?

Thanks
John

Looking at expert flyer.com, LGW-MCO on the 2nd Jan 06 the nearest fare to £540 advertised is £547
YLXGB VS Y Round-Trip 547.00 (GBP)

As this seems to be a Y fare it should be miles earning/upgradable using miles

The T&C's state that this is only valid for flights from the UK

6. Travel is only valid for return flights from the UK to the following Virgin Atlantic destinations Orlando, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Cape Town, Antigua, Barbados & St Lucia.

So your routing wouldnt qualify.

Its a good deal if you want two upgradable tickets..otherwise a lower ticket class would be cheaper than this offer

Thanks for the advice. Just to be clear, I meant I wnated to do LHR-HKG-PVG-NRT-LHR, and was wondering if the offer would allow me multi stops. I know VS don't do the middle connections but I could do LHR-HKG and return NRT-LHR.

Was thinking of 2 tickets in PE and then upgrading to UC so would be worth it if I could upgrade.

Just phoned about this offer. These are 'mangled' fares. They are in the most restrictive fare class, which for upper is Z, but changes are permitted at a cost of £25 per segment. No limo, No companions etc, so I assume this will be the same for Econ and Prem Econ.

Fares are interesting though, for example:
LGW>MCO>LGW 29/4-6/5 2 for 1 total cost including taxes etc £2670, Virgin Z class fare = £2945.60

I would imagine then on this basis they may not be upgradeable with miles but as with everything you can always try at the airport on departure and if they are looking to give out upgrades you may get lucky!
