Just had an email from BA, book before the 12 August and use half your reward miles so 25000 becomes 50000 :D , sorry if this has been mentioned before

Ha ha ha, I tried to book and saw this on BA.COM:

We're sorry, but ba.com is very busy at the moment, and couldn't deal with your request. Please do try again - if it still doesn't work, it may be better to try again at another time.

I am not surprised.

This is the sort of thing VS should be doing but continually fails and disappoints.

I thought, from the reports on here, that the VS website went down rather a lot so on that basis BA is doing 'catch up' !

I think it's the sheer volume of traffic - generally the VS website is nowhere near as good as the BA site. I keep getting the same message about being very busy blah blah...

Of course Dear Lady DL it's volume, nothing to do with their site ... will try again later, that's an ace deal and time to offload some BA miles ...

Slightly OT but:

- wasn't VS supposed to be announcing an alliance by now
- what's happening with the VS merger / SQ sale / etc.
- still no news on A333s into LHR
- still no news on the new UCS

etc. etc.

Decided to use up my miles. Booked WTP to Mco for May next year 75k miles for 2. Also decided to Book Vegas in Clubworld for 2 using my Amex 2-4-1 which I have had for ages and been itching to use.

I have no miles left now on BA and only 60k on Vs booooooo

The email suggested it would apply to all classes of travel, though the first landing page removed certain options on playing with it. But I could futz around and get it to do what I needed. Which was a small hop from FRA to LHR one way in early Sept, CE for 4500 miles and 90 bucks will do just fine.

Bummer>

Here I am in sunny Greece thinking this is my lucky day, thanking the Lord that I had brought my laptop away.

I got the email and thought my only problem was deciding on a destination as I also had the 2:1 Amex voucher.

So - I decided 3 X Club to UVF for 100k next summer. Then I read this forum and no Club World !

Back to the sun lounger then !
